Mystic, CT (Sept. 10, 2014) — The 13th annual Wild Mushroom Festival, the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center’s popular festival that celebrates foraging and fungi, will be 2-5 p.m., Sunday Sept. 28 at the Nature Center, 109 Pequotsepos Road, Mystic.

Celebrate the season, flavors and mystique of wild mushrooms, rain or shine. Many of the area’s talented chefs will prepare creative wild mushroom dishes on-site, ranging from wild mushroom and spinach lasagna to mushroom ice cream! Cottrell Brewing Co. is making a special mushroom beer for the event.

The festival is co-hosted by the Connecticut Valley Mycological Society. Experts will be on hand to identify mushroom specimens and lead guided walks. There will be a mushroom display table with more than 100 different species of mushrooms. Live music by festival favorite The SemiLocals.

This year, the Inn at Mystic has partnered with the Nature Center to make the Wild Mushroom Festival a great Mystic weekend!
