26th Green-Tie Gala
The Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center’s 26th Green-Tie Gala was 6-10 p.m., Friday, Oct. 16, at the historic Haley Mansion at the Inn at Mystic, 3 Williams Ave., Mystic. It was an amazing night – thank you to all who attended and all who made it happen!
Honored that night was the Coogan Farm Implementation Team (FIT) for its work over the last two years on the restoration and renovation of Coogan Farm into the DPNC’s newest Nature & Heritage Center. Specifically honored for their contributions above-and-beyond the call of duty were FIT members Steven Dodd, Harry White and Charlie Hatton. Each was presented with a photograph of Coogan Farm taken by John Leuba.

A Gathering of Spirits: Super fun under a super moon!
Saturday, July 12 was a perfect evening for the DPNC Gathering of Spirits. Delicious food, live music and a bonfire set the atmosphere for this very special party! Guests enjoyed a welcoming glass of champagne as they roamed the Nature Center grounds, including the magical Native Butterfly and Moth House.
Everyone enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner, drinks and adult S’mores for dessert. As the sun set Maggie gave her thanks to the Sponsors (see below) and the many volunteers and staff who made the event possible. She thanked guests for supporting the DPNC with their donations of wine and spirits, and offered a toast to the Full Buck (Super) Moon as it was rising.
The party was designed to benefit the upcoming 25th anniversary Green-Tie Gala by providing premium wines and spirits for the silent auction. An amazing array of great beverages was donated, so make sure you come to the gala to bid!

See what you missed at the 2013 Gala!
We had a near sell-out at our 24th annual Green Tie Gala and Auction at the Lake of Isles in North Stonington on Nov. 16, 2013. The silent auction raised record amounts, including $18,000 for Nature Preschool scholarships.
DPNC Executive Director Maggie Jones was honored by state Rep. Diana Urban for her 21 years at the helm. Others who were recognized that night included all the Campaign to Save Coogan Farm volunteers and the Trust for Public Land, which partnered with DPNC on the Coogan project.
Entertainment was provided by Rock and Soul Revue. A special thanks to our gala sponsors: Duncklee Cooling & Heating, Les Bray and Diana Atwood Johnson. Thank you to the 2013 Committee as well: Chair Betty Smith, Chelle Farrand, Jake Hanley, Rhona H.
