DPNC Program Cancellation Policy: Pre-registration allows the Nature Center to secure staffing and materials for programs, so that we may best serve you. We require pre-registration and pre-payment for most programs in order to reserve a space. If DPNC cancels a program, you will receive a full refund. If you withdraw from a program more than 4 days in advance, you will receive a refund less a 25% administrative fee. Withdrawals within 4 days of a program are not refundable. Preregistration for all programs is always recommended. Walk-ins should be prepared to pay by check or with exact change for programs at Coogan Farm, off-site, or after hours, and may be turned away if program is full.

Mother’s Day Walk at Elm Grove Cemetery

Elm Grove Cemetery is a “Who’s who” of Mystic families and history, and a showcase for flowering trees and shrubs. Maggie Jones will lead a walking tour of this local landmark established in 1853, a classic “garden cemetery” laid out in the shape of an Elm tree and designed for strolling. It’s ornate sepulchres and mausoleums feature amazing examples of stone carving, including the Memorial Arch entry gate of Westerly granite,carved by Italian masons. At the conclusion of this easy guided stroll will we will serve refreshments and honor mothers past, present and future at the historic Greenman Chapel overlooking the Mystic River. Park inside the entrance off Route 27, Mystic.
