DPNC Program Cancellation Policy: Pre-registration allows the Nature Center to secure staffing and materials for programs, so that we may best serve you. We require pre-registration and pre-payment for most programs in order to reserve a space. If DPNC cancels a program, you will receive a full refund. If you withdraw from a program more than 4 days in advance, you will receive a refund less a 25% administrative fee. Withdrawals within 4 days of a program are not refundable. Preregistration for all programs is always recommended. Walk-ins should be prepared to pay by check or with exact change for programs at Coogan Farm, off-site, or after hours, and may be turned away if program is full.

New England Summer Dinner

Join A Lovin’ Spoonful’s Emily Steadman to cook a classic New England summer dinner! Learn the origins and development of some of New England’s favorite signature dishes as we prepare a seasonal New England meal together. We will focus on locally sourced seafood and produce in order to highlight the variety of food available in our community! The menu will include a bacon or salt pork chowder, a clam bake layered with seafood, sausage and potatoes in a beer broth (made with beer from Beer’d Brewing in Stonington), sweet corn fritters, a simple heirloom tomato salad, Cape Cod Pudding with a summer berry compote and fresh whipped cream. We will also enjoy New England Sangria with the meal! The menu will be based on heritage culinary books and research Emily has done on the culinary history of the area. The meal will not be gluten free. Space limited to 10 people. Pre-registration is required. Meet at Coogan Farm.
