A Winter Break Program

Have you ever wondered what animals are doing to get through the cold winter months? Join us to learn about all the different methods of winter survival animals use, including hibernation, brumation, and migration. We’ll go for a hike, meet live animals, and test different methods animals use to keep warm in the winter.

Shelter Building

A Winter Break Program

In this class, we’ll learn about survival and how to build a proper shelter using only materials we can find in nature. Students will work together to create their very own shelters as well as test out different shelter building techniques.

Natural Dyes

A Winter Break Program

Tuesday. Children ages 6-10 years

Members: $21.25; non-members: $25

Many plants have pigments that not only look pretty, but can also be used by humans as dyes! During this class, we’ll explore different methods to color fabric and paper using materials found in nature. Examples include leaf hammering, watercolor using berries, tie dyeing with vegetables, and more!

There’s more than just s’mores and hotdogs when it comes to campfire cooking! Together, we’ll cook some delicious food while learning about campfire safety and how to build a campfire.
