Woodcock Walk at Manatuck

Adult birders, join us in search of the elusive male American Woodcock! At twilight in early spring, males leave the safety and cover of their forest habitat to attract a mate through their dramatic and spiraling “sky dance.”

Enjoy the show as this normally well-camouflaged bird transforms into a showy master of dazzling aerial displays for the sake of impressing females.
