Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center is hosting a spring series of instructional regenerative agriculture classes with former Giving Garden Manager Craig Floyd. The series of classes is free for both DPNC members and non-members through a grant from the Eastern Connecticut Community Garden Association.
Classes on April 6 and May 18 are via Zoom, and the class in June will be held in person at the Craig Floyd Giving Garden, Coogan Farm, 162 Greenmanville Avenue, Mystic, CT 06355. Registration links for each class are listed below class description.
Seed Starting & Preparing the Garden

Learn best practices for starting seeds indoors, including augmenting potting soil, inoculating seeds, how to plant and what kind of light, heat and water requirements your seedlings need. In addition, Farmer Craig will discuss preparing your garden for seeds and seedlings.

While some flavors pair well together, such as tomatoes and basil in marinara sauce, some vegetables and flowers support or inhibit the growth of other plants. Learn how to improve the yield of plants sharing the same bed before adding seeds or transplants into the ground.
